Some simple steps but not limited to are below to follow;

 

• To backwash first, ensure there is enough water in the pool to complete the backwash as you will use up some water doing this.

• Turn the equipment off and make sure any valves on the waste line are opened to allow water through.

• Next, turn the valve on top of the filter to the option labeled Backwash (When moving the handle on the multiport, the pump must always be off, and you must press down on the handle end, then turn handle.)

• Turn the pump on and let it run for 2-3 minutes, if there is a sight-glass on your filter you want the water to be clear before finishing this step.

• Once that is done turn the pump off and turn the filter handle round to rinse

• Turn the pump on and run for around 30 seconds

• Turn the pump off and turn the filter handle back round to filter

• Return any valves you may have opened on the waste line back to closed and the chlorinator system to its normal timer mode.
